2sketches4you and a treat

Here is this week's sketch from 2sketches4you.

Here's my take

I have a lot going on with this card, but I am pleased with the results. The butterfly is stamped with Inkadinkado Garden Delight. I added some sparkle to it with stickles. The swirl and "HI" are chipboard. I painted the letters but left the swirl plain. The paper is by Little Yellow Bicycle. Oh.. the journaling card behind the letters was also stamped and cut out. The stitches are rub-ons. How's that for using a stash?

And... I know it's last minute, but I wanted to share. I made 50 treat bags for the trick or treaters who will get the pants scared off them by my hubby. It's the least I could do. Maybe later I'll post some pics of our scary decorations. For now, here's the treat toppers. I'm doing some subtle advertising there too.

Show Us Your Sheetload

I found yet another great sketch site this month - www.sheetload.blogspot.com They publish a monthly ezine with a SKETCH! (you know by now I LOVE sketches) and directions for making several cards at one time. Great for Christmas and those other holidays when you need multiple cards. They also have a monthly contest. Here is my card that I created with this month's sketch:

I used my new paper from Cosmo Cricket Wonderland. The flower is from the Dollar Tree. I placed an epoxy sticker (from the Michael's dollar bin) in the center.

Another great pairing from southernscraps and beadsme.

2sketches4u

This week's sketch from 2sketches4you was a lot of fun. I waited late to make my card, but I was waiting on new goodies! I used new Urban Prairie papers from BasicGrey and a cardstock sticker from daisyd's chloe marie that arrived at my house Thursday.

Here's the sketch

Here's my card

I sponged walnut ink on the edges of the blue paper. I got it a little heavier in some places than I like. I also did the edge of the center piece. Overall, I'm happy with it. It was fun to do.

OCC challenge card

It seems that every day I am stumbling across one great blog after another with great sketches. This weekend I found Our Creative Corner. What a talented group they have!

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge there-

And here is my card. I needed to make a sympathy card for my pastor who lost his grandmother, so I used the sketch to make it. I love the color combination and I hope it is as comforting to his family as it is to me. It's not a WOW! card but it's very pleasing to me.

2Sketches4you

I found some time to play with the sketch from 2sketches4you again this week.

The sketch

My card

My card is a hybrid. I used papers from a couple of digi kits by Sophia Sarducci. After I printed them and cut them for my card, I outlined the edges with a gold leafing pen. The flower is from a $1.00 bunch from the Dollar Tree and I sprayed it with gold glitter spray to tie it to the colors of the card better.

2 Sketches 4 you

I actually got to participate in this challenge again this week. Here's the greeting card I made for Laura's sketch 10.

The lighting was horrible this afternoon so the color looks off. That is the beautiful Making Memories vintage collection paper. I also got a new toy this week- the Fiskars treading water punch, so I did the edges of my strip with that. I tore the edges of the striped piece and applied walnut ink to both to make it a little shabby. It was a quick and fun card to do.

World Card Making Day

I'm back to share the fruits of my labor thus far. I've got to take a break and cook supper, but I hope to do a little more before bedtime. I've gotten a few cards done today and checked in on some blog candy, challenges, and such. I hope you've gotten a chance to play and enter some contests for prizes and I hope you win!

I made this card today for the sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Here's the sketch.

I made this one for this week's sketch at 2Sketches4U. I just discovered this blog this week and I love it.

I had one of the tags leftover from a few years back. I made another one to go with it for the card. I did some stitching and chalking. I wish I always had time to put more into cards like this.

Lastly, here's a card I will be sending to Mission Soldier Support.

Happy World Card Making Day

It's here- World Card Making Day! What is it? A day for paper crafters and card makers to unite and officially kickoff Christmas card making. Yep, Christmas will be here before you know it. Visit the World Card Making Day website to learn more and find ways to celebrate. I'll be working on my Christmas cards and some for Mission Soldier Support!

Here's one I'll be adding to the shop a little later-
