DIY Polka Dot Planters

I was updating my planters and had some extra plants. I also had some extra pots on hand. The problem was that these pots were pretty plain and boring.

Sad. But with some vinyl and Mod Podge I had a quick fix and some fun pots.

I took some of my white adhesive vinyl and a 1 and 1/2 inch circle punch and punched out some circles. I could have cut a whole page at the time with my Silhouette but I opted to just punch and adhere as I went because I really didn't know how many circles I wanted or needed. The vinyl doesn't stick well to the plastic planters, so that's where Mod Podge comes in. I used some outdoor Mod Podge to coat and seal the dots. They have held up well for a week, even in normal rain, but we're having a tropical storm right now and I think I'm going to have to do some repair work. Just remember to bring your pots in during a storm if you use this method.

I'm still lovin' the punch of detail and color they add to my front porch. I can spot these babies immediately when I pass my house coming and going or out for a run.

Check out my color blocked planter HERE.
