Just not enough time

Do you ever feel like there is not enough time in the day to do everything? Especially those of you who, like me, work a full time job and blog and craft for a hobby? There is some truth to that. There isn't enough time to do everything, so we prioritize and choose where we spend our time. Have you missed Must Do Monday for a couple of weeks? I haven't done a post because I've chosen to spend my time elsewhere- working on organizing my craft room and painting and finishing a new craft table my hubby built! I'm over the top excited to finally get my office/craft room in order like the ones in pictures I drool over. But it takes time away from other things, so for now, I may not get all of my normal posts up. I'm not saying I'm taking a total break, but I may not get it all up. Like today- no Tried It Out Thursday . I haven't been crafting. I've been cleaning and organizing and sanding and painting. So when I am back to a full schedule of posting, it wi

WIWW- Old Navy

Dress, jacket ( similar ) shoes ( similar )- Old Navy   From head to toe, with the exception of the earrings, this is an Old Navy outfit. What can I say- Old Navy has cute, cheap clothes.   I wore this to a local amateur film showing. We have a friend who had a short film and a teaser for another film shown. It was a fun night.   Linking up to WIWW .

Chair to planter

I took an old chair that belonged to my maternal great-grandparents from my mom and converted it to a planter as a surprise for her. She knew I was going to makeover the chair but she thought I was keeping it at my house. She did not know it was for her. This one was pretty easy to convert. The original chair had a leather seat that has long been missing so there was already a square cut in the middle. I just had to find a pot to fit in the hole.   Let me correct myself. My hubby did the painting and found the pot. I planted the flower once he was finished.   Here's the chair when we started. You'll notice in some of the photos that it has been reinforced in some places, like with a piece of wire tied around the edge. My hubby thought that added character and texture so he left some of that in place or put it back after he was finished painting. My grandmother is likely the one who added the reinforcements.   Wire put back in place for character.

WIWW- Summer brights

Dress- Belk's; Cardigan- Old Navy; Belt- Target; shoes- TJMaxx   I've had this dress for a long time. It comes with it's own matching cropped red/orange jacket, but I decided to pair it with a cardigan. The dress is sleeveless but I have to wear sleeves for work. I'm happy that I can wear this dress again and that bright stripes are still "in".   Linking up with WIWW

7 Cool Summer treats

It's been a bit warm here this weekend so we've been craving cool treats. Here's a round up of seven cool treats to try this summer. I'm hoping to get an ice cream maker so we can make our own ice cream since the hubs had to go dairy free, but in the mean time, I can make popsicles.   Tart lime pops (made with pears) via Real Simple     Vanilla Peach Ice Cream- Dairy free     Ice pops      Pina colada pops     Raspberry limeade pops     Chocolate coconut pops     Butter pecan caramel  ice cream

Coastal Patriotic Tablescape

Happy Fourth of July! And THANK YOU to those who served and presently serve to perserve the freedom we hold so dear! Today I'm sharing a tablescape I created for the Fourth of July. I've set my coastal theme as a base and added red, white, and blue to it. After the Fourth, I can make some quick changes and have my beachy coastal tablescape for the rest of the summer.   The centerpiece is a hurricane filled with blue decor sand, shells, and a blue candle. This usually stays on a bookshelf in the living room as everyday decor, but I thought it would be fitting for the dining room table for a while. The place setting includes a new blue plate I picked up at Tuesday Morning. I placed a paper patriotic pinwheel in each napkin ring. The pinwheels came six in a pack from Michaels . I'm using the no sew runner and pieces of netting again. On each side of the centerpiece is a mason jar filled with blue sand, shells, and a candle. I stuck a flag in each o

WIWW - Pink and green

shirt- Belk's; skirt- Goodwill; necklace- made by me; shoes-Old Navy   I wore this outfit to church a few weeks ago. I though it was plain until I added the necklace, and then it became one of my favorites. And these wedge shoes have been getting lots of wear lately. I love them because they are just the right angle. My feet don't slide forward in them and stay in place. Do you have that issue with wedge shoes?   Linking up with WIWW .

7 Awesome Driftwood Projects

I live on the coast and often find myself photographing driftwood. We even have a spot called Driftwood Beach. Maybe I should start collecting some of it and make one of these awesome projects for myself.   Driftwood anchor   Driftwood sailboat     Candleholder     Driftwood frames     Driftwood decor     Driftwood mirror     Driftwood orb
