Fall-i-fied soap dispenser

The temperatures still aren't cooperating with fall around here, but I've decided to move forward with preparations and bringing bits of the season inside. This is a simple project that will take less than ten minutes but will bring lots of fall feeling to your home. It sure brings a little smile to my face seeing this sit by the kitchen sink. So, how can you get this little reminder of fall? Grab a 99 cent bottle of soap from Wal-mart or Target or a similar store. Remove the labels. Grab your stash of vinyl and some leaf punches and punch away. If you don't have punches, cut a bunch of leaves with your Silhouette or other electronic die machine. Adhere those leaves to your bottle and tie a scrap of ribbon around the neck. Done. If you like this check out my monogram soap bottles . Fall Tablescape

I'm way ahead of the curve for fall this year. I don't normally due any "fall" decorating until Thanksgiving. We just go from summer to Halloween. This year is different. After putting together my mason jar centerpiece , I just had to go ahead and complete a fall tablescape. The current tablescape had been there since February so it was time for a change. The leaf placemats and champagne colored napkins, along with the wood napkin rings were all purchased at one of our local thrift stores.  White plates, bowls, BHG leaf salad plates and a faux pumpkin in each bowl make up the place settings. A couple of more votives and some cute squirrel ornaments that I found at Tuesday Morning add to the centerpiece. I even stuck one of the squirrels in the tray with the jars. Hope you've enjoyed viewing my fall tablescape. I rounded up even more ideas HERE . Linking up with Tablescape Thursday and these great parties: Think Pink Sundays * Un

Fall Mason Jar Centerpiece

Here's an easy way to add a little fall to your home- a simple centerpiece. I started with an empty tray that I picked up at the thrift store. If you don't have a tray, find a large platter or plate, anything that will ground your centerpiece. The dollar stores often have clear or silver platters for a dollar. Those would work. Next I took three mason jars and filled them with beans and pumpkin spice votives. These are actually Ball canning jars, but I think mason jar has become synonymous with any canning jar, so we'll call them mason jars. I place them in the center of my tray and then arranged a faux leaf garland around them. I filled in with faux pumpkins and gourds and some berry picks. Quick, easy and simple, and I now have a touch of all in my home. Just waiting for the air to cool!
